Remove white background on Photoshop

I took a bit of a break these past few weeks but now I'm reverse to blogging. I decided to do this lesson because I think it's helpful and not many people know how to do it. So here's a way to get free of the white background for photos instead of using the magic wand tool. Let's get in development. So I go ogled a random pic of a cat and ended up with this guy.

So once you have your picture opened in Photoshop go in front and unlock the background by twofold clicking on the background layer and clicking ok.Make sure your brush color is set to white or any other color the background may be. Once that's done go up to Select then Color Range...
This little window will pop up. Play around with the fuzziness until only the "shadow" of your object remains. Basically only the dark parts of your image will remain.

Click OK then the background around your object/s will be selected. Hit CTRL + X and you're done.If there's more white around the object do it over until you get the effect you're looking for.
